Regulation — Export Certification and Quality Marks Framework

Regulation on Export, Certificates and Quality Marks (2023)

Provides the framework for export certification, quality marks, certification procedures and conformity requirements for Somali products. It supports the recognition of compliant products, promotes trade facilitation and sets out the requirements for the use of Quality Marks issued under the Somali quality infrastructure system.

Regulation on Inspection and Verification of Quality Control of Goods Entering the Federal Republic of Somalia (2023)

Establishes the procedures for inspection, verification, conformity assessment and quality control of imported goods entering Somalia. It defines requirements for product verification, Certificates of Conformity, border inspection processes and the responsibilities of importers and authorities in ensuring imported products comply with Somali Standards.

Somali Standards and Quality Control Act No. 27 of 2020

The primary legal framework governing standardization, quality control, conformity assessment, certification, inspection, metrology and the mandate of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SoBS). The Act establishes the institutional authority of SoBS and defines its responsibilities in protecting consumers, supporting trade and ensuring a credible national quality infrastructure for Somalia.
