The Somali Bureau of Standards provides national quality infrastructure services that support safe products, reliable services, fair trade, and consumer protection.
Apply for certification, submit required information and documents, track your application, receive notifications, and access approved certificates or permits online through the SoBS Integrated Management Information System (IMIS). No physical application submission or certificate collection is required for supported digital services.
SoBS welcomes participation from businesses, manufacturers, government institutions, universities, researchers, industry professionals, consumers, and other interested stakeholders in developing and reviewing Somali Standards (SOS). Eligible participants may apply for Technical Committee membership, contribute to standards development, or submit comments during open Public Inquiry periods.

SCC and Tier‑1 are distinct compliance certification programmes covering service providers and suppliers; eligibility is determined by the applicable requirements and the approved certification scope. Applications are submitted, tracked and certified digitally through SoBS Online Services (IMIS) — no paper submission or certificate collection required.

Voluntary recognition for eligible Quality Mark-certified, locally manufactured products demonstrating additional quality and performance requirements.
Certification outcome: Platinum Mark certificate — premium recognition displayed alongside the Quality Mark.
Certification for products that comply with applicable Halal standards and certification requirements.
Certification outcome: Halal Mark certificate confirming compliance with the applicable Halal standard.
Import standardization compliance for applicable imported goods entering Somalia.
Certification outcome: ISM permit / mark confirming the consignment meets applicable Somali Standards.
