sobs.gov.so is the official website of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SoBS), a public institution operating under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Resources of the Federal Republic of Somalia, established by the Somali Standards and Quality Control Act No. 27 of 2020. By using this website you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Official information

SoBS takes care to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date. The website is provided for general public information. Official notices published in the SoBS Gazette, the text of laws and regulations available under Downloads, and certificates and records held in the SoBS-IMIS portal prevail over any summary on this website in case of inconsistency.

3. Copyright and use of content

Unless otherwise stated, the text, images, logos and design of this website are the property of the Somali Bureau of Standards. You may view, download and print website content for personal, educational or non-commercial public-information purposes, provided the source is acknowledged as “Somali Bureau of Standards (sobs.gov.so)”. The SoBS name, logo and certification marks (Quality Mark, Platinum Mark, Halal Mark, Import Standardization Mark, SCC and Tier‑1) may not be used, reproduced or imitated without written authorisation from SoBS.

4. Somali Standards (SOS)

Somali Standards (SOS) are copyrighted publications of SoBS. Catalogue listings on this website and on the IMIS Standards Catalogue are provided for information; official copies must be obtained through SoBS. Standards may not be reproduced, distributed or resold without authorisation.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of this website or its administration systems.
  • Do not use the contact form or newsletter to send unlawful, abusive or unsolicited commercial content.
  • Do not misrepresent SoBS certification status or present unofficial documents as SoBS certificates. Certificates can be verified in the Public Directory.

7. Liability

The website is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, SoBS accepts no liability for loss arising from reliance on website content, from interruptions in availability, or from the content of external websites. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory powers or duties of SoBS.
