SOBS Advances Final Product Quality Assessment for Local Manufacturing Industries The Certification Department of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SOBS) has officially launched the final stage of the Product Quality Assessment and Evaluation Process for locally manufactured products, as part of the joint programme implemented between SOBS and HopeLabs Group. Over recent months, the Certification Department has been actively reviewing and processing product certification applications submitted by local manufacturing companies seeking to obtain official certification and recognition under the national quality framework. Manufacturing companies that successfully passed the preliminary assessment stage have now entered the final phase of quality evaluation, inspection, and verification. Companies that successfully complete this stage will be awarded the Product Quality Certificate and the National Quality Mark, confirming that their products comply with applicable national and international quality standards. The final assessment stage focuses on: Comprehensive evaluation of manufacturing processes and production systems. Quality testing and verification of manufactured products. Assessment of compliance with national and international quality standards. Confirmation that products meet the requirements for certification approval. The assessments and testing activities are being conducted by the Somali Bureau of Standards (SOBS) in collaboration with HopeLabs Group, a company specialised in laboratory testing, quality assurance, and conformity assessment services, with internationally recognised accreditation to support the reliability, accuracy, and credibility of testing results. Through this programme, SOBS aims to strengthen the quality of Somali manufactured products, improve consumer confidence, promote industrial development, and enhance the competitiveness of local production in domestic and international markets.
