SOBS Certification Review Committee Conducts First Technical Review Meeting The Certification Review Committee of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SOBS) held its First Technical Review Meeting as part of the Authority’s efforts to strengthen the certification and conformity assessment system. The meeting focused on reviewing technical assessment reports, verifying compliance with applicable quality standards, and ensuring that evaluation procedures were carried out in an effective, transparent, and impartial manner in line with established quality requirements. During the meeting, the Committee carefully reviewed inspection and assessment reports, with particular attention given to the compliance of local manufacturing facilities with applicable quality standards. The Committee also provided technical recommendations aimed at strengthening the certification process and improving the effectiveness of conformity assessment activities. This meeting forms part of the continuous efforts of the Certification Department of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SOBS) to enhance the quality of locally manufactured products, strengthen confidence in the national certification system, and ensure that domestic products meet the required quality standards for both local and international markets.
