SOBS Certification Review Committee Conducts Key Evaluation Review Meeting

The Certification Review Committee of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SOBS) held an important meeting in Mogadishu on 26 August 2026 to review certification assessment processes, focusing on quality, efficiency, and accuracy in certification decisions.

Mogadishu, Somalia — 26 August 2026 – The Certification Review Committee of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SOBS) held a key meeting to conduct a comprehensive review of certification assessment processes and evaluate the effectiveness, quality, and accuracy of previously implemented assessment activities. During the meeting, the Committee conducted a detailed review of the following key documents and evidence: Audit Reports – Including inspection findings, audit results, and product sampling activities conducted as part of the certification assessment process. Test Reports – Laboratory testing reports and results generated from product evaluations conducted through approved laboratory procedures. Evidence Gathered from Local Manufacturing Facilities – Documentation and supporting evidence collected from local production facilities to verify compliance with applicable standards and quality requirements. The review forms part of SOBS’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its certification and conformity assessment system, ensuring that certification decisions are based on reliable evidence, transparent evaluation processes, and established quality requirements. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Committee issued recommendations regarding the approval or rejection of product certification applications and the awarding of the National Quality Mark, based on the findings and evidence reviewed.
