Somali Companies Win Top Honors at the 2026 East Africa Quality Awards
SoBS Director General Hawo Ahmed Hassan congratulated Somali companies that achieved major wins at the East Africa Quality Awards 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda.
Kigali, 3 November 2026 — The Director General of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SoBS), Ms. Hawo Ahmed Hassan, extended congratulations and commendation to Somali companies that won awards at the East Africa Quality Awards 2026, held last night in Kigali, Rwanda.
Somali companies achieved significant results in the competition, placing among the top-ranked companies across various award categories.
This success followed facilitation by the Somali Bureau of Standards (SoBS) to support the participation of Somali companies in the regional competition. The previous awards ceremony, where awards were presented to companies, was held in Mogadishu.
Tabaarak ICT Solution won first place in the category “Winner Service of the Year – MEDIUM.” Three companies achieved “First Runner-Up” positions:
1. Kalkaal Hospital — Service of the Year.
2. Takaful Insurance of Somalia (FISO) — Company of the Year – SME.
3. Banaadiria Coffee — Export of the Year.
The Somali Bureau of Standards commends all Somali companies that participated in the competition. The achievement reflects growth in quality, innovation, and competitiveness within Somali businesses, and also demonstrates that companies in the country are capable of standing out in East Africa’s regional markets.
